So excited. My dad and I flew in Friday, the morning of the 6th, and somehow managed to make it all the way to St Andrews with my 2 overweight bags (how have I not learned?) with relative ease. We slept soundly (as soundly as you can sitting up...), woke up in Edinburgh and met our pal Hamish for the beautiful taxi ride to St Andrews. Dad was really excited, as he wasn't able to make it over last year, and really enjoys spending time here. Anyone who hasn't been to Scotland, it's worth the week of rainboots, it really is a beautiful place.
Dad and I promptly dropped our bags off at my new flat, which is right down the street from my freshman year dorm, Sallies, and strolled a little deliriously over to one of our favorite restaurants, Mitchell's. After some much-needed eggs benedict, we were ready to start unpacking. Oof.
Goofing off, as per usual
Unpacking with dad is hilariously different than unpacking with mom. The comments switched from 'this is so cute, where is it from?' to 'what the heck is this, and how do I get it on a hanger???' Too good.
'Can you take a picture of me holding this dress and send it to mom?'
I've finally finished fully unpacking (a week and a half later, whoops), and fresher's week has come to a close. It was a really fun week, but I'm psyched for the routine of class to set in. Fresher's week is orientation week, but it's mostly fun because everyone is finally reunited and hits the town.
Sophia and I, so excited to be reunited across the pond
Welcoming Alexandra to St Andrews
The parents
The kids
Called the boys day 3 to fix our fire alarm...
Together again, and so happy!
So we've reunited with old friends, and welcomed some new ones, and we're ready for the excitement of third year to begin. Can't wait to see what this year brings!
Keep wandering,
