Marc Has Arrived

It's here!
In my last post about Marc Jacob's makeup line, I told you all to 'Marc The Moment' by signing up for emails regarding the launch. I did, and I'm so happy because I was invited to a pre-sale on Sephora exclusively for those who signed up for notifications.
The mini-sale only featured a sneak-peek of the line, but obviously I was over-the-moon anyway. I purchased 4 incredible products, and after trying all of them out, I can't wait to check out the rest of Marc Jacobs' Beauty!

I bought:

The Magic Marc'er Precision Pen in 'Blacquer' (duh, it was one of the products Marc was most thrilled about)
'The Glam' Eyeshadow Palette
'The Tease' Eyeshadow Palette
Sheer Lust for Lip Vinyl in 'Kissability'
Day no. 1 I used EVERYTHING. I layered the three shadows from 'The Glam': I used the lightest shadow on the left all over my lid up to my brow bone, then the middle-tone on the right just on my lid, and the darkest brown in the middle on my crease. I next applied the amazing Blacquer Pen along my top lash line. Because I'm fairer in skin tone and hair color, black can be a bit intense for eyeliner, so I set the Blacquer with two of the shades from the 'Tease' palette. I used the Nars Push Eyeliner Brush and stamped it first into the deep plum on the far right and then into the dark periwinkle on the far left, and then stamped it right over the Blacquer liner. It didn't take away from the amazing black that Marc Jacobs made the theme of his beauty line, but it softened it, and added another dimension of color. Last, but nowhere close to least, I applied the Lip Vinyl. It had a cooling effect, that  was likely for plumping, and gave just enough pigment and sparkle to rock during the day, although it would be fabulously glamorous to swipe it on over a lipstick for some added shine at night.

In terms of the packaging, I shouldn't be surprised that Marc thought every detail through. The eyeshadows came in their own snap-closure vinyl-like bags, and all of the products featured the 'Blacquer' finish Marc wanted to achieve. He also carried the rounded corners of the packages through to every element of the makeup he could- including the brush of the lipgloss, which is not a standard-shaped brush, but is just slightly altered to mirror the shape of the lipgloss package itself. Brilliant. All of the products feel nice to hold, too- added bonus!

I'd give Marc Jacobs' Beauty a 10 so far. Beautiful colors, beautiful products, beautiful packaging. Go Marc!

Keep wandering,
