Last week, I was lucky enough to have the week off from my internship to spend some time on the beach with my family. We had a blast! However, I did get sunburned. Surprise, surprise. I'm Irish, and I live in Scotland all year, that makes for a pretty interesting recipe baking under the sun.
Yes, that's me. The super pale one next to my bronzed-goddess sister. How did I not get that gene?

As if getting sunburned isn't bad enough, you're further punished after it wears off with that lovely peel. I mean who hasn't dreamed of shedding skin like a snake? (Me, ew.)
So I've returned to work, and there's nothing more awkward than having someone tell you that you have something on your face and having it turn out to be dead skin. Yuck.
I have a few solutions that may help get you through those few awkward post-vacation peely days!
Yummy vacation fruit!
Grapes, bluberries and strawberries drizzled with a pinch of fresh lemon juice and sugar

The treatment:

1. Exfoliate.
Except don't over exfoliate. It's easy to get scrub-happy and rub your nose raw, so stick to every other day. I use one by Clinique, but Benefit and Neutrogena make great ones, too.

2. Moisturize.
Step 2 is especially important following step 1. Your 'new skin' that you'll be exposing through exfoliation will be thirsty for some moisture. So lather it on! I love MicaBeauty's for a richer night cream, or Mary Kay's for a lighter day-time cream.

3. Temper the redness.
You've now gotten rid of the dead skin and satiated your new skin, but it's still red, right? Ugh. It's likely still a bit sunburned and irritated from all the scrubbing. Nothing a little powder can't fix! Dust on some of your favorite powder to reduce the redness and even your tan (because if you're like me, you probably tan in super awkward blotchy patterns, right?). Check out Clinique, Mary Kay and bareMinerals.

Hope this helped! My poor little nose (which my loving sister Suzy calls me 'Rudolph' for all summer...ehem, not really seasonally-appropriate, Suz) needs some T.L.C., and this is the regimine that keeps me moisturized and presentable!

Keep wandering,
